Captain Raymond Gregory, a 20-year veteran of the Riverside County Sheriff's Office, began his law enforcement career in Blythe where he worked both in corrections and patrol. He was later assigned to serve as a courtroom deputy at the Larson Justice Center in Indio. Promoted to investigator, he was transferred to the Sheriff's Administrative Investigations Bureau where he conducted internal affairs investigations. Earning a promotion to sergeant, he worked as a supervisor at the Larry Smith Correctional Facility in Banning, then as a patrol watch commander and supervisor of the Forensic Services Bureau at the Indio Station. From 2007 to 2009, Captain Gregory served as the assistant police chief for the City of La Quinta while holding the rank of lieutenant. He was promoted to captain in late 2009 and assumed command of the jails in Indio and Blythe. In June 2010, Captain Gregory returned as commander of the Indio Station.

Captain Gregory, a full-time resident of the Coachella Valley since 1998, attended College of the Desert, is a graduate of California State University, Palm Desert, with a Bachelor's degree in Management, and holds a Master of Arts in Management degree from University of Redlands. He is married, has two grown sons, and one grandson.
