The Patrol Division
Working in partnership with the community,
the Patrol Division for the La Quinta Police Department covers an area of over 33
square miles and provides service to an estimated population of 42,000 residents.
Uniform Patrol officers are assigned as the initial responders for all calls for
service within the City of La Quinta. In 2008, the Patrol Division responded to
30,548 calls for service, approximately 83 calls for service per day, with an average
response time of 4 minutes and 58 seconds for priority one calls.
The La Quinta Police Department supports and promotes the concept of Community Oriented
Policing and our Patrol Officers strive to be responsive to the needs of the community.
Uniformed Patrol Officers seek to forge partnerships with citizens in order to prevent
crime and to apprehend those who commit criminal acts. La Quinta Police Department
Patrol Officers seek to provide service that is fair, unbiased, and respectful of
the dignity of all individuals. The Patrol Division recognizes their great responsibility
in being the first point of contact with our citizens.
