La Quinta Special Enforcement Team The La Quinta Special Enforcement Team was implemented in the late 1980's. The teams purpose is to serve as an adjunct to the Patrol Division with an emphasis on providing enhanced patrol services to the residents of La Quinta.. The team currently consists of one sergeant and six deputies. The Special Enforcement Team actively investigates various crimes to include burglaries, thefts and other localizedcrimes. In addition to investigations, the Special Enforcement Team utilizes community oriented policing concepts in an effort to provide education and problem solving ideas to the citizens and businesspersons of La Quinta. By functioning in these capacities, patrol officers are able to remain in the field and available for service calls. As part of their Crime Prevention efforts, each deputy will be contacting homeowner associations, business owners, homeowners, and other community groups currently organized within La Quinta. Each deputy will provide crime prevention information and suggestions in an effort to reduce the crime in specific areas of the city. Each deputy will also be available to receive information regarding issues that concern the residents, businesspersons and develop programs to address and hopefully resolve those concerns. The Special Enforcement Team also conducts specifically targeted enforcement programs to combat identified problems within the city. The Special Enforcement Team is also responsible for specialized enforcement and security for La Quinta civic and community events, such as the annual Bob Hope Chrysler Classic and the Skins golf tournament held at Trilogy Country Club. As with all community-orientated programs, a good working relationship with those who live and work in these areas is essential for success.
